First video salsa World Dance New York came as a reminder how I always will love this spicy, saucy dance. I have danced salsa for some time, but seeing the three dancers attractive to flirty dresses to make these once-steps that have been known to remove my favorite music and salsa dancing my wild – and not very good – for a while.
Salsa individual is a comprehensive beginner's instructional. It will take you through the basic steps that make up the salsa dance and then a set of standards or shine. You can dance a lot about your (which is what I like to shine) or you can dance to spice up your partner from breaking away for a while extra style. And because salsa is full of moving the feet and the movement of the arm, make a good low-impact aerobic exercise – the term that will keep long enough.
The command is led by the superb Yesenia Adame, who can do some breathtakingly athletic dancing.
Warming up, always a good idea, is short and uses moves that will take, and dance salsa. In fact, this is what you are prepped for the moves.
And you get through the first of three sets in this program. Usually, you have step by step review of movement, and the practice of music in all sections. The first combo is all the basics: forward, sideways, back-back, Cuban, right and left turn. Each step is broken down so you can see how the back-substitution front, front-back-substitution really works. The only non-essential part of this combo is when you arm formed on the left turn.
Now, the mandate is clear for quite attractive. You can see the dancers dancing in the back so that you can follow, as in the classroom. For salsa somehow this is very important. Want to hopelessly confused if the trainer was just in front of you and you will not know which foot to begin with.
However, I feel when I think back to my time as a beginner salsa classes, that is something more to make the learner more comfortable with the pace and the main stage. A little explanation of how the footwork is in rhythm, maybe. We really need a total beginners too long to understand. And going by my class, some never do. It was not a natural or salsa and often told to go stand on the sidelines and clap the rhythm. I think that beginners can not really hear the pauses in the rhythm and for this race. There is nothing, but give him time and really listen to much music and connect with it, but maybe a little more time should have been spent on the basic rate here. Maybe even a longish tour of the main front and rear basic done to music. In this way the student can repeat only that section several times.
Something else that needs more explanation is the Cuban motion. This is another thing that a student with matches. It's just not as natural and easy as it seems if you are born to salsa-earth. Thus, while the Cuban hips explained briefly here, is not clear how to join the footwork – that too in all directions. Nor is it clear how the shift of the torso matches two legs and hips Cuba. Probably not necessary to go into great detail on a video for absolute beginners, but then perhaps one should not ignore that either corner. If not, we need a better distribution.
That by the way, go to the second complex, which rises to the level of difficulty. There are 6 or 7 moves strung together here. The key to a fountain, cumbia with a slide, a "squash the bug" formed foot, a figure eight formed with arms, etc. Together they look good. You are not unambiguous so there is a risk that the student will examine the lot, take the key and move on. This will take some doing. In my own salsa having gone rusty, I should definitely spend some time on this combo.
Three further combination takes a good ground with the cross shining the front walk or "swivel key, sliding forum, the Susie Q, a right turn that back with a quick turn formed in the side taps hand, a roll body and cheeky shimmy series. Another thing to explain how the shake happens. This combo is to make faster music. There is a meeting of dance with all the combos, of course.
A brief cooldown of inhaled breathes and stretches and some parts of the program ends. Apart from a brief demo of dancing people from each of the three dancers. These are just a few seconds. Why not the whole song?
Overall, a nice video if you work with it enough to get that certain Latin look, you will definitely look great on the dance floor. This is a video only women because of the style. There is no reason why men should not do all the basics and feet that are common to the two (except that foot to start on), but the style is very different for men.
I'd recommend looking Yesenia Adame and check out amazing dancing.
The nicest thing about this video is that it really acquired on your own – and quickly! An eruption of hard work and you can dance pretty well.
There are other people and salsa shine video market. But this is a quick and effective lesson half price.
